The
mission of Yarmouth Little League is to provide the youth
of Yarmouth with opportunities to develop sportsmanship,
loyalty, courage, respect and physical well-being through
baseball and softball. Our goal is the all-around development
of young people, not just baseball and softball players.
Baseball and softball just happens to be the vehicle used
to develop life skills that extend beyond the game.
Yarmouth Little League is operated solely by volunteers
under the direction of a Board of Directors and is funded
by player registration fees, sponsorships of local businesses,
concession sales and participation in fundraising at the
Yarmouth Clam Festival. We field baseball teams in three
divisions - Farm League (2nd grade), Minors (9-10 years
old) and Majors (10-12 years old). There are three divisions
for Softball – Minors (7-10 years old), Majors (10-12
years old) and Junior League (12-14 years old).
We
are affiliated with Little League International through
Williamsport, PA and follow the rules and guidelines of
that organization. Our goal, locally, is to see to it
that our children learn to play the game, have fun and
develop their skills as ball players, teammates and competitors.
Yarmouth Little League serves over 200 families in our
community and we are proud of our reputation for having
a safe and nurturing family environment while also developing
highly-skilled, competitive players.
